Care Information
Water safety
Naturally, we always want our products to look at their best.
To clean, wipe gently with a warm (not hot) damp cloth. Wood should never be left to soak in water or put in the dishwasher. Water exposure can cause wood to delaminate, warp or crack - and we don't want this.
Heat Safety
Wood has a low heat resistance when compared to the likes of metal. Our products are not recommended for sitting hot pots or oven dishes on, this can leave burn marks on the wood. Similarly, leaving wood products somewhere particularly hot, like a radiator, can rapidly draw out the natural moisture from the wood causing warping.
Fresh out the box
It is perfectly natural for wax finishes to lose their moisture resistance over time. To test this we recommend putting a small droplet of water on the under side and leaving it for a minute. If it is still there, your finish is healthy, if it has absorbed into the wood it could do with a re-coat.
Wipe the droplet and apply Adze and Froe Wood Balm to restore your products moisture barrier and looking as good as new.
Please note, if you leave the water droplet for a prolonged time it will soak in regardless.
Wear and Tear
Over time, wood can dry out naturally, this should be expected from any solid hardwood product. If you feel the surface has gotten a little rough, simply give it a light sand with 320 grit sandpaper following the grain direction then reapply some Adze & Froe Wood Balm.
